Max is a strong-willed adventurer who loves to explore and do his thing. But despite that strong will, he LOVES to cuddle… possibly more than any dog I’ve had. If I dare to sit down on the ground, he’s not satisfied with being next to me or on my lap, he has to be right on top of me with his neck wrapped around mine in a hug. And he licks!!! Neck, ears, face, wherever he can reach!
Max definitely thinks he’s the alpha… always!, even though he still qualifies as a puppy and has lots of puppiness left in him. I got him as a companion for my slightly older dog, Jessie, but despite her being older and queen of the house, he quickly decided that he’s to be the boss.
While the 2 of them get along really well and while he’s been great with my friend’s Staffy after a long intro, he does show aggression to other dogs that walk past. I definitely couldn’t tick the “Great with other animals” option, I think he’ll need some training in that regard.
I’ve also lost a couch and some pillows and cushions when I’ve been away for too long. So he’s house-trained for doing his business outside, but not so much in leaving the house content in tact. I’m sure he’s young enough that this can be corrected, but just being open about it.
Unfortunately I’ve got some health issues and need to focus on myself. Max needs more attention that I can give him right now and I think he’s young enough to easily fit in with someone else who has more time for him.
