Yes — browsing and adopting is completely free. You pay nothing to contact an owner or adopt a pet. Owners pay a small listing fee to post their pet, which is how we keep the platform running for the NZ community.
We encourage owners to include vet history and vaccination details in their listing. We always recommend meeting the pet in person before committing, and asking the owner directly about health history. You're in full control of the decision.
This is between you and the owner — we always recommend discussing this upfront before taking the pet home. Most owners appreciate knowing their pet has somewhere to go if circumstances change. We suggest agreeing on a trial period for everyone's peace of mind.
For owners rehoming
It varies by pet type and location, but most listings receive enquiries within the first few days. Popular pets like dogs and cats in major cities tend to go quickly. A good listing with clear photos and an honest description makes a significant difference.
